Graham

Ooo, this baby is sweet as a graham cracker! :) I just want to eat him up! He's so yummy!
I had two newborns in the studio last week and this one was the first... he was two months old and such a doll! I had a blast visiting with mom, grandma and auntie. They all called me the "baby whisperer" LOL!
I did get lucky getting him to go to sleep because they told me he was not much of a napper... and over a few weeks old, it's nearly impossible to get them to go to sleep if they don't want to. In a new environment they typically just want to look around and check everything out.
I love the images we captured during this session.
Enjoy!

Kya - 9 months

Hey there! It's been crazy busy around here lately and I'm trying to catch up on all the order-processing I need to get done.
I have some fun pictures to share of an adorable little girl I've been photographing since she was a newborn!!! Her mommy is a good friend of mine and we always go out for lunch after our sessions! Yummy eats at Lakeside! :)
This last session was one of my favorite baby ages... definitely the most fun age in my opinion. Kya is a crawler now and can really move out!!! :)
She really did a good job of tolerating all the clothing changes we put her through. And I can't wait to take her pictures when she gets closer to a year because we'll be doing something with the whole family! Wonder if her daddy will want to go to Lakeside too?? LOL!
Enjoy!!

Katie

I know there have been a lot of Katies that I've been blogging about! They must all have good taste because they keep coming to my studio! ;) *wink*
I loved taking pictures of this beautiful senior girl, Katie. I did senior portraits of her older sister a couple years ago, so it was fun seeing their familiar faces again and catching up on everything.
Katie has a thing about not smiling with her teeth showing in pictures... her mom warned me as soon as they got in the door! :) But, I had no trouble getting her to laugh and show me her pearly whites! Guess it's hard not to smile when you're having fun.
Check out these great images!
Enjoy!

Katie & Justin

This week has been flying by with the long weekend and all! I just took some senior pictures and now it's time to eat a little lunch, place some orders and then get ready for Katie's viewing appointment! :)
Katie and Justin got married three weeks ago in Mason City and the wedding reception was in Ventura. They were just the cutest couple and if you remember their engagement pictures... they were the ones with the umbrella.
Well, it was a BEAUTIFUL day on their wedding. They couldn't have had nicer weather... it did start raining that evening, but by that time everyone was getting lit up on the dance floor! LOL!
I gotta say this crew was a lot of fun to photograph. They had the most adorable flower girls and a chubby little baby boy that did amazingly well as the ring-bearer. The one little girl stopped and emptied her whole basket of petals in the middle of the aisle. Then the other girl saw grandma (mother of the groom) crying in the front pew and thought she was sad and started crying too! How sweet!
Another neat thing were the fortune cookies they had at the reception... this was a fortune they got while eating out one day... and guess what!? Justin popped the question 3 months later!!!
I can't wait to meet with Katie today and show her all her images, she's gonna love them!

Marlin

It's been a wonderful summer for senior portraits! I've done many seniors from Albert Lea, Austin, Glenville and a few from Alden, Mason City, Southland... and more. It's so much fun meeting everyone. Although I'm still getting seniors calling to book, it's getting a lot harder to schedule things now that school and sports have started up again. If you're hoping to get in before the end of September or in October you should call very soon to book because it's going to get filled up fast with families doing pictures before the holidays.
Back to Marlin... Marlin is a beautiful girl, born in Texas and raised in the midwest. She has a wonderful personality and served as a translator for her family and her friend who is also hoping to have me take senior portraits for her as well. I think that Marlin's dark hair and eyes really look amazing when photographed.
Enjoy!

The Goskeson Family

I've been working on trying to stay on top of things lately... it's hard with a couple days off this week, since there's no one else to do my work for me when I'm gone! ;) LOL! Wouldn't have it any other way though!!!
So I'm writing today to share pictures from another family I did last week... the Goskesons. Their daughter, Morgan is adorable! So sweet. Makes me wish for a girl!
I've know Morgan's mommy since elementary school but haven't spoken to her much since graduation. We just don't run into each other very often I guess! She sees my dad all the time which I think is funny. He isn't afraid to update us on what each other is doing! :)
Back to business~ sorry! So Morgan has a special birthday coming up... the one year! So we did some super cute ones with a tutu and her neon monkey. With the bright green grass those images really pop! But my favorites are the ones of the family.
They are so touching. I love the ones where they are interacting with each other. The one where she's got the blade of grass in her mouth totally makes me laugh and smile. That's something I would hang BIG in my home! Of course, if you have ever been in my home you know when I say BIG I mean it! Ha! ;)
Enjoy!

The Steinhauer Family

Good morning everyone! I'm so happy it's Friday and the weather is beautiful!! It's been just gorgeous all week around here. I can't wait for the long holiday weekend, although I'm sure I'll probably end up on the computer processing images a few times over the next three days, but I'll do my best to stay away! :) LOL! That's one of the downfalls of a home office.
Anyhow, back to the fun stuff! Here's a few pictures from one of my family sessions last week. I had a blast with Brody, who I've been taking pictures of since he was a newborn and I have been friends with his parents since I photographed their wedding back in '06.
Brody just had his first birthday and he's getting around really good now so we had to get some cute pictures of him on his tractor in his overalls, playing on his swing set and with his doggie, Baxter! I just love this age because you just go with the flow and let the kid lead you around and they pretty much get to do what they want to do and it works great for pictures because they are more "real".
I did a bunch of hand-tinting with these pictures because the overalls really lend themselves to this type of look... and then I had such a hard time picking just a few for the blog... so here's a whole bunch! :)
