The Helgeson Family

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing the Helgeson family down by Kensett at their home. They have a beautiful property and they really wanted portraits that showcased their amazing wrap-around porch. I was thrilled to find out one of the sides faced to the north... perfect for lighting! :)
I have to give credit to the family for doing such a great job of coordinating their outfits. There was just enough light and dark shades of blue to give the group photos a little more interest and depth.
And would you look at these grandkids! Aren't they just adorable! They were so well mannered and took directions wonderfully.
I love my job! Creating wonderful memories like these are what makes me want to keep doing this until I'm too old to hold up a camera... then I'd have to start using a tripod! ;)
Enjoy!

Zach

Hey there! Well it seems like this fella is pretty popular with the ladies because his mom just told me they've all been asking when I'm going to post a blog entry featuring his session! LOL!
I guess I was so busy that week that I skipped right over poor Zach, figuring... he's a boy, most boys don't care about my blog... maybe I was right... but it turns out his friends who are girls do! ;)
Gotta love that!
Zach here was a really fun guy to photograph. He's very laid-back so I tried to convey that with his senior portraits. He was so shy at first and I think I embarrassed him when I'd say "Oh! That looks perfect!" because he'd immediately look down at his feet and laugh when I did!
Once we got outside he totally warmed up... especially when we got out the golf clubs and his gun!
Enjoy!

Ellie

What a beautiful day! I'm bummed I have to be inside editing images all darn day! :( But I'm excited to share one of my latest senior sessions with you. :)
It's another lovely lady from Albert Lea... I swear there's something in the water up there! LOL!
Ellie was fun to shoot, although a little sore from soccer practice, she didn't let that get in her way of doing an amazing job in front of the camera. She could totally be a model!
Enjoy!

Laura

Well hello there! I know, I know, it's Sunday... what am I doing posting on a Sunday?!
All I have to say is... Andy's gone, Collin's napping... and I just had a huge latte and don't feel like doing housework... so the next option is catching up on some photography work. :)

This post is about a girl who is totally full of life and energy. Laura is a beautiful person, inside and out. She is so joyful it's totally contagious.
I suppose she reminds me a little of myself when I was her age. She loves 4-H and is into photography... she is a girly-girl, but low-maintenance... and doesn't take herself too seriously. Gotta love it! :)
I know she's really looking forward to seeing these... so I'm hoping she's going to be thrilled with how they turned out.
Enjoy!

Macy

So I think I'm about the luckiest photographer on the face of the earth! I keep getting these awesome girls in my studio... they are all so beautiful and totally know how to pose! And if they don't have it quite right... they sure take directions well!
I suppose the marketing pieces I design and the work I show attracts a certain kind of senior girl that is really passionate about having some AMAZING senior pictures... and who am I to stand in the way of that?!
I adore girls like Macy... she's a little bit edgier than some of your average girls... so we made sure to get some really creative poses in. Plus, she was outgoing so she didn't hesitate when I asked a garage shop owner if we could pose around this sweet old car he had in the shop. Gotta love it!
Enjoy!!!

Laine

This girl is just too cute! I had the best time taking her senior pictures. She's so laid back and easy going. I love girls like that! :)
And as you can see... the camera LOVED her as much as I did!
Wish I had more time to write... but I gotta go take more senior pictures... next session starts in 1/2 hour and I've gotta get my butt into Northwood!!!
Enjoy!

The Burke Family

This was one of the easiest sessions I've had in a looong time! :) Well, okay maybe not that long, but it sounded good! LOL!
Yes, it is a bit easier to pose people when everyone is a full grown adult and can take instruction well... even if they don't really want to... right, Wes?? ;)
My main concern was if we'd get their dog to cooperate, but she was amazing! :) Gotta love a good dog! This session was a breeze, I can't wait to share the images with the family. They are going to love them!
Enjoy!
