The Trytten Family

I made some new friends this past week! I got to photograph several new people I wouldn't have ever got to meet if it wasn't for my passion and gift of photography. :)
The first which this post will focus on was Cosy and her adorable family. She has two of the sweetest children. With her little boy being 16 months and her little girl being only 4, it wasn't that easy to get that "perfect" family shot... but I think we got a few good ones ;) LOL! I don't know how they'll choose!
Actually the kids did great and if it wasn't for the bugs and those wild kids that came to the park at the same time we wanted to take pictures on the equipment it would have been perfect.
But, I did get to see a grandma lay the smack down on them when their puppy started nipping at her grandson's ankles. :) That was worth it right there! Thanks you guys! So glad I have a job where I get to know such awesome people.
Enjoy!

Kya's 6 Months!

Well, little Miss Kya is growing up fast! She's six months already and growing like a weed! Her mommy brought her to the session, all nervous that things might not go so well since she didn't take a very long morning nap... but things went perfect! We were able to get three outfits in before she decided she'd had enough!
Love the new chair and rug I got... they worked great and Kya seemed to like them.
Enjoy this cutie-pa-tootie!

And mommy said she wasn't "camera ready" but I think this is a great shot, don't you???

Missy and her boys

Well I'm sure you're wondering what I've been up to lately and it's been a lot of behind the scenes stuff. I recently mailed out 1,000 postcards to seniors in the area and have been fielding phone calls and trying to schedule appointments for the summer and fall since then. Of course I am still getting the regular children's and family portrait calls right now too, but that's all good! I love helping people set up the perfect time to get their pictures taken. :)
Just last week, I had the opportunity to photograph my daycare provider, Missy and her sons at their home. It was a beautiful summer day and they are just gorgeous people, so it wasn't too much of a challenge! The cat, Odie, even got in on a few pictures.
This is definitely more of my 'style' of photography when it comes to family and children's portraits. I love the lifestyle images... we played in the treehouse and the boys had fun in the swing. It makes for a much more fun and stress-free photo session for both the kids and their parents.
Call if you'd like to schedule your family session for the summer. June is now full and popular dates and times are booking fast and weekend sessions now have a $25 premium added to the regular session fee... I've got too many weekends booked already! I need some time with my family too! :)
Enjoy the images from Missy's session!

My little monkey

Well, I've been getting a little grief lately... it seems I haven't posted any pictures of my son, Collin and since he's such a cutie pie, I thought I'd share an update.
Enjoy!
Rebecca

We don't make it into the studio much, since I'm in there all the time anyway...
but he always hams it up for the camera when we do! - He's sure getting a lot of teeth!

Like I said, he loves being outside and he's pretty fond of Ruby. He loves throwing the ball for her.

And he "loves" his kitty too! LOL! Normally he's very gentle - I swear! He usually pets Bear very nice. :)

Then there's the park... Oh, what a happy boy I have when we visit the park! He loves the slide. No fear in this boy!

High School Musical Event

I had the honor of being hired by Sara Lee (the company that makes those delicious pies) to be the professional photographer at the Grand Prize event for their High School Musical 3 promotion.
Sara Lee's new whole wheat white bread is really good and it's a great way for kids to participate in a healthy eating lifestyle... so recently they had this great contest for a kid to win a chance to meet Corbin Bleu, one of the stars of High School Musical and have a viewing party with 100 friends! Doesn't that sound like fun??
Well, the lucky girl was from Nora Springs and she and her brother were the guests of honor at Cinema West in Mason City on April 29th.
The "red carpet" event was amazing! Alison Dix with Devotion to Detail did the arrangements for the day and everything went great!
The kids had "VIP Guest" passes to wear around their neck and had to get their names checked off the guest list at the door. Then as they walked down the red carpet into the theater... cheerleaders did Wildcats cheers to get them pumped up!
After more cheers in the movie theater... CORBIN BLEU arrived!! It was so much fun to watch the little girl's faces! They were all in love! ;)
All the kids got served a healthy lunch with a Sara Lee Whole Wheat White Bread sandwich, apple, Sun Chips, etc. Then the movie started and they were given free popcorn and pop (not so healthy!) Ha!
Corbin Bleu spent A TON of time visiting with the little girl and her brother who won the prize. He was trying to teach the boy how to spin the basketball on his finger and the little girl some new dance moves.
I even got his signature on my STAFF pass and a picture with him. I didn't know what to expect from a movie star from LA... but Corbin was really great, totally down-to-earth and very kind.
Oh, and the kids that won also got an original copy of the script from the movie... signed by all the cast members, a framed 8x10 of cast signed, and like $5,000 worth of groceries! (if I remember right)
Oh, and all the kids got these great goodie bags for coming.
It was a pretty fun day to say the least.
Enjoy looking at the pictures!

Baby Easton

Easton was only one month old in this photo session, but you wouldn't hardly believe it by the way her held his head up so high in the one picture! It's just amazing. They are the cutest!
Mommy and Daddy are fellow hunters so we did a few with camo... and a few on a deerskin rug... and then of course, the classic nude baby shots! :) Oh, and mommy is a cowgirl so we had to do the cutest picture with a cowboy hat! I LOVE IT!
Enjoy!

John Paul

I took these pictures at the end of last week when little JP was only one week old! Gotta love newborn sessions!
He was a really good baby and I know his mommy loved the pictures because she cried when I showed them to her. :) Tears of joy, of course!
