Well, I had another adorable one year old in my studio last week! I swear there's something in the water in Iowa. :) We grow the cutest kids down here, dontchaknow!
LOL! Seriously, this family was so cute.
Funny story: We were blowing some bubbles for Payten when she said "Payten hold?" so we let her take the bubbles and wand... and it went RIGHT INTO HER MOUTH! Duh! :) LOL! Her mom and I couldn't stop our knee-jerk "Ahh!" reaction, which sent her into tears... I think we just scared her more than anything and so a lollipop did the trick to get the soapy taste out and get a smile back on her sweet little face... some of the best pictures were with the lollipop! :) Gotta love that!

Katie & Jason

Ahhh, LOVE! AMORE! What a better thing to post about on Valentine's Day? I can't think of a happier couple than Katie and Jason right now. They came last weekend to have their engagement session and they were just so darn cute! I love how they coordinated their outfits so well, not too matchy, matchy. Just right.
I think that Katie probably has the most gorgeous, flawless skin out of anyone I know! I didn't have to do any retouching on her at all! How fair is that??!!

Sophie's One!

Well, I can't believe it! Another year has gone by... I was first reminded when my son had his first birthday last month... and now another baby I started photographing last year is turning one as well!
Sophie is such a sweetheart. You can totally see it in these images. She's very thoughtful, but also very happy. Her mom was telling me all the words she says, and I was impressed!
These one year sessions can be challenging sometimes... my boy is a challenge because he won't stop moving and keeps trying to get into everything I have in the studio... where as Sophie wasn't a problem to keep in one place at all! As long as that place was near mommy! LOL!
Gotta love this...

Hi there everyone. I'm so excited to share this post. I absolutely love getting women brave enough to do maternity sessions. I know it's hard to feel like getting your portrait taken when it gets to be the end of your pregnancy... but it's totally worth it! Just look at these images!!!
I love this gal. She's such a regal beauty. Her hubby is adorable too. I can totally tell they're going to be awesome parents. I can't wait to find out if they're having a boy or a girl... I hope they come back right away for a newborn session.

PP of Iowa Winter Conference

I just got back yesterday from a three day conference in Des Moines and I'm totally refreshed and inspired! The first couple days I learned from Cody and Mike of TriCoast Photography. These guys came all the way from Texas, so they definitely had something to share if they came all the way up here to talk... right?! You bet! I am excited to try some of the ideas they shared for lighting my outdoor wedding pics.

There were lots of other great speakers too... I even got to hear Lori Nordstrom share her approach to lighting and photography.
Well, back to the grindstone! Better implement some of these ideas while I'm excited about them.
