Senior Portraits Summer Specials

Well, it's that time again! Now that's school's out (or almost out for those MN students) it's time to think about getting those senior photos taken!
This is such an exciting time in a kid's life because it's the one time when they'll be given lots of attention and presented with pictures of themself that they love. It's the one time your teenage son will actually like having his picture taken. And pretty much all the girls go crazy with how many outfits they bring! It's so much fun. They get to be treated like a model. What's not to love!
Here's the postcard I'll be sending out to next year's seniors from the local schools - but I don't have everyone's name - so if you'd like to be added to the list, or know someone who might... shoot me an e-mail and I'll make sure they get one!
Later,
Becca

DeGeus Hamand Wedding

Hi there! I just wanted to post a few images from a wedding I did last weekend in Ventura, IA. It was a beautiful day, a bit windy, but beautiful none the less. Nicole was a gorgeous bride... a total natural beauty. I had so much fun, you guys are going to make a great couple! I wish you the best as you begin your married life together!

More Building!

I'm happy to say that even though the weather was absolutely beautiful last Thursday... I was lucky enough to have my husband working on my studio! :) And not just him, but his two employees as well! How do I rate???!! Pretty good I guess!
They took out the garage door and framed in the front wall and doorway. They also framed in a assembly/storage room for me.
The next day they started on a new house... so he says I'm going to have to start doing my rain dance if I want to get any more done soon!
I'm just waiting for the front door that I picked out to come, and then hopefully I can sweet talk my brother-in-law to come do some electrical work for me! :)
Did I mention the first door I picked out was $2K??? Yeah, my husband wouldn't let me spend that much on a door. Boo hoo. I settled for one that was less than half of that... but it's still a beauty! :)
The guys at the lumber yard think I have pretty good taste! LOL! Wait till we get started on the house!! Then they'll really find out! HA

Today is a glorious day! Beautiful weather! I'm in heaven!
I met my good friend, Megan and her daughter, Macy in town for a walk around the lake today. Good times! I think Collin enjoyed the stroller ride. :)

Here's a couple images from a session on Mother's Day. It's always fun to take pictures of this little guy. His name is Maverick and he is three years old. I've been taking his portraits since he was a baby. It's neat to see how he changes so much.

New Studio Construction Begins!

I'm sooo excited because last week marked the start of construction of my new studio! We are renovating the existing garage to turn it into an amazing photo gallery and camera room. The space is perfect for my studio since it's a blank slate with tons of wall space, high ceilings and it's wide open.
I am really looking forward to decorating it and right now is the hard part when I have to decide what kind of "look" I want to go for.

They've already put up a few walls, one to separate the gallery from the camera room and another for the changing room, and soon there will be another to create an assembly/storage room.
Here are some pictures so you can see the progess they've already made. I've got the best construction crew around working on it! :) My husband got me a sweet deal on a huge 6x6 window! Guess that's one of the perks of having a hubby who's a contractor! :) LOVE YA!

And, of course, Collin had his first photo session in the new studio already! The natural window light is beautiful!

New Website Up!

I'm so excited! My new website is finally live!
This site has so many great features that the old one didn't.

First: The Galleries are so much better!
You can see the images nice and big, they play through like a slideshow with music and there are lots more than there used to be. Plus, it's easy for me to update, so I can put new ones up right away so you can keep coming back to see what's new.

Second: Internal Proofing and Ordering!
When you preview your images you only need to go to my site and type in your password! Your images will be much larger than on the old ordering site and the shopping cart is more user friendly.

Third: The Blog
Last but not least, I'm starting a blog so that you can stay posted on what's happening here at the studio and I can give little previews to my customers of their images from their sessions! Very fun with seniors over the summer! Can't wait!

Well, that's all! Check it out!
